Ride your bike with Sustrans

by | 17 April 2018 | Community Event, Exercise, Retford, Worksop

Sustrans Bassetlaw Rangers are running another programme of free social bike rides from Retford and Worksop again this year. The rides will usually be on the third Sunday of each month from April to October, although the first takes place on 22nd April. This will be a shortish route to Thoresby from dual starting points: meet either in Retford at Café Roubaix on Bridgegate, or in Worksop at the Manton Sports Club on Retford Road. The two groups will join up at Hardwick village in Clumber Park.

Their following ride, on 20th May, will be from Worksop to Welbeck, including a section of National Cycle Network route 6. Both rides start at 10.00am and follow quieter lanes and byways.

Thereafter, the rangers hope to introduce some shorter, local rides, with particular appeal to those new or returning to cycling. These will provide an ideal way to enjoy a friendly leisure ride at a steady pace, supported by experienced rangers. All rides will include at least one refreshment stop. See subsequent issues for more details.
A similar programme of rides is being run from Newark beginning on 8th April and then on the first Sunday of each month.
