Owner

Paul works with the sales team and has over 20 years’ experience working in and managing print companies. He purchased the business together with wife Jo in May 2019. Paul is passionate about helping local business succeed and serving the local community. Paul and Jo have two children. Paul is an avid runner and completed the London Marathon two years ago. He also enjoys cooking BBQs in the summer and roasts in the winter.

Jo Baxter

Owner

Jo works with advertisers to get their advert copy, ensuring their adverts are up to date. She also manages the policies and governance of the company. Jo’s experience in project management is well suited to the demands of a local family business. In 2019 Jo completed her first half marathon and plans are afoot for a step up to the marathon distance soon.

Tara Burman

Sales

Tara has over 30 years' experience in sales, 17 of which were spent working at one of the UK's leading banks. With a friendly, calming manner, customer service is at the heart of everything she does. Tara has lived locally most of her life and is a true believer in helping local businesses thrive. She enjoys spending time with her family and close friends, travelling and walking her dog Erik. Life is for living!

Nancy Gompertz

Credit Control / Accounts

Nancy is our Credit Controller and enjoys working with us and our advertisers. She has over 28 years’ experience within financial settings. She has worked for blue chip companies and international manufacturing industries as well as the transport industry in a variety of different roles from sales/purchase ledger to payroll/HR manager. Nancy has also previously worked in advertising where she was credit controller for four titles of a local newspaper. She enjoys spending family time with her husband and two children, socialising and gardening. She strongly believes you get out of life what you put into it.

Chanel Hosfield

Editor

Chanel oversees the editorial content in the magazines and is responsible for ensuring they keep readers interested. She is also our community contact, liaising with hundreds of local groups and individuals to help publicise their meetings, events and stories, as well as looking after our website and social media feeds. She is passionate about making the magazines, and our digital presence, an essential guide to what’s happening locally, a directory to showcase local businesses and a monthly celebration of the local areas in which we live. Chanel is kept busy out of work spending time with her young family.

Michael Minard

Commercial Manager

Michael works as part of our creative team as one of our senior designers. His key responsibilities include working closely with the sales team and local businesses to supply creative and innovative solutions for all aspects of design across Life Publications. Michael also takes a lead role in driving our design and print arm, Life Design and Print, and oversees the distribution of our magazines and leaflets.

He has over 30 years’ experience in design and print, having a breadth of knowledge through working in many sides of the industry from local newspapers to multinational printing concerns. Michael has lived locally all his life and loves nothing more than spending time with his family. He is also a keen DIY enthusiast and has the scars to prove it.

Richard Stevenson

Design Manager

Richard is one of our senior graphic designers. He is responsible for producing the editorial pages of our magazines each month, as well as designing eye-catching and responsive adverts for the businesses which advertise with us. He handles editorial design, advert design and magazine print production for customer publications, helps manage our website and is a key member of the Life Design and Print team. He has worked for the business for over 10 years.

Ben Wickham

Sales

Ben has recently graduated from the University of Sussex with a degree in History and Politics. He has previous experience working in a local estate agency and has a passion for sales and telecommunications. Ben had his first experience of sales and marketing during his time at university when he managed a vintage clothing store in Brighton.

His youth, energy and enthusiasm results in a well-organised and attentive style of customer service for his clients. Ben's hobbies include a variety of sports as well as keeping fit. He believes that hard work pays off and is very happy to be working in such a friendly and positive work environment.
