Retford Ramblers Group are always happy to meet people who would like to join one of their Sunday walks. Experienced walkers or anyone just wanting to give it a try will be made welcome. Their programme offers walks of varying lengths and in a variety of locations in our local area, in Lincolnshire and, of course, the Peak District.
The group walk on most Sundays and meet in the Chapelgate Car Park, where car sharing is encouraged. Ramblers are a charity dedicated to protecting the public rights of way which makes the countryside more accessible for everyone. June’s walks are:
- 3rd June — Wessenden Head, 10-and-a-half mile day walk
- 10th June — Crowden, Black Hill and Laddow Rocks, nine-mile day walk
- 17th June — Swinstead, nine-mile day walk
- 24th June — Walking the Edge, Baslow, 10-mile day walk
