Parkinson’s UK

by | 3 September 2018 | Group meeting, Support Group

The Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK continues to grow, with new members again joining at the monthly meeting and receiving a warm welcome. The members enjoyed a splendid presentation by Ali, who demonstrated the intriguing benefits of colour therapy on the way that we feel. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and applauded the brave gentleman who volunteered to also be a model.

There is a busy time planned for the autumn months with lunch at The Chequers Inn at Ranby on 26th September, a Trent River cruise with afternoon tea on board on 4th October and a guided tour of Lincoln cathedral followed by lunch at Burton Waters on 15th November. The aim of the Branch is to demonstrate that there is life to be enjoyed despite some of the difficulties that Parkinson’s disease can sometimes cause. Support, friendship, fun and laughter are all to be found within the Branch membership. New members are always assured of a warm welcome.

The next meeting will be at Worksop Cricket Club on Tuesday 5th September at 2.00pm, when members will welcome the talented Roger Glew, talking about the Life of George Formby (with music and songs). For more information call Chris on 01909 730629.
