Bassetlaw Cardiac Support Group

by | 5 February 2020 | Support Group

May 2020 prove to be happy, healthy and peaceful for all. Bassetlaw Cardiac Support Group enjoyed good meetings and successful outings in 2019. A total of 45 members had an excellent Christmas lunch at The Shireoaks Inn, Worksop, and on Friday 3rd January, they welcomed David Seymour to speak about Henrietta Stockdale (who later became known as Bassetlaw’s Florence Nightingale). A well connected and charismatic lady, she travelled to South Africa, where, with the strength of her faith, excellent education and training she set up a structure to improve medical conditions. She made nursing the valued profession it is today. After receiving royal recognition in 1901 her school of nursing became highly acclaimed and The Henrietta Stockdale School of Nursing in South Africa is still recognised today.

The group’s next meeting will be held on Friday 7th February at 2.00pm at Bassetlaw Hospital (Clinical Therapy Entrance). Martin Laing will speak to members about ‘Fire and Pests’. Please join them — all are welcome. For further information please call Pat Broskom on 01909 562361.
