Beckingham Bowls Club have been selected to take part in the Co-op Local Community Fund and are looking for support to raise much needed funds after a difficult year restricted by the pandemic. The club is one of three causes in our community which Co-op members can select to support between now and 23rd October 2021. The more members who select Beckingham Bowls Club and shop with the Co-op, the more funds they will receive.

Even though they are linked to the above, money raised through Co-op membership can be generated anywhere in the UK, as long as a member is buying selected products or services from the Co-op Group and has selected Beckingham Bowls Club online.
Following the extensive work carried out on the green at Beckingham (coring in July followed by scarifying, re-seeding, application / amelioration of a 70 / 30 top dressing, and the application of autumn / winter fertiliser at the end of September), the seed has germinated exceptionally well and the green was given a light cut recently. The result of this work has exceeded the club’s expectations, and they are delighted with the result, which justifies the money spent and the decision to core the green in the middle of their ‘diluted’ season, which had met with some criticism. Their hard-working ground staff are of the opinion that the green has never looked better. They hope that it will be possible to enjoy playing a full season in 2021.
