Retford Men’s Probus Club has been running since 1971. Meetings take place at the Westhill Community Centre, Ordsall at 10.00am every other Friday. If you would like to go along to one of their meetings, please view www.retfordmensprobusclub.org.uk.
For those new to the idea of Probus, the name is an acronym for Professional Businessmen (and of course we must not forget the women).
January, traditionally in the ‘Bloggers’ household, is a time for looking at seed catalogs and planning holidays for the coming summer. It’s time to be full of optimism. The club have some great speakers lined up for the new year, and once again we should mention the speaker finder/secretary Dennis Beevers, for the fantastic job he does.
In March members, as a group, are going to the Grimsby Fish Museum. The president gave details at a recent meeting, but will be reminding members again during our January meetings and collecting their money. About 25 people expressed interest when the trip was announced, so they have organised a coach with their friends at Kettlewells. Details of the price, date and times will be given by either the secretary or president at the next meeting, but there will be the opportunity to go on a Grimsby trawler, followed by a slap up fish and chip meal in Cleethorpes.
Thank you to everybody who attended the Christmas lunch, the committee all hope you had a good time. Well done Mick Bradford for arranging everything.
