Les Francophiles de Tickhill

by | 4 March 2019 | Social Group

On Wednesday 6th March Les Francophiles de Tickhill shall welcome Catherine Greensmith, who will talk in English about ‘The French Impressionists in London’. Many of them were forced to flee from Paris at the outbreak of the Franco-Prussian war in 1870: the group shall see how London benefited from their exile. Catherine, a French national and lecturer at Hull University, speaks for the Alliance Française in our area.

Then, on Wednesday 3rd April they shall be entertained by the Yorkshire plantswoman, Sarah Hopps, who will give an illustrated talk on ‘The Gardens of France’. Sarah will also set up a stall of her own spring produce, so go along prepared to purchase plants.

The group meet at the Parish Room, Tickhill DN11 9HZ at 7.30pm. Visitors are welcome at a charge of £3.00. Refreshments are provided. For further details contact Jan Murray on 07463 007789.
