East Markham WI

It was party time in December when over 50 members of East Markham WI, and their guests, were entertained by The Four Players and enjoyed a sumptuous buffet provided by members and the committee. Among the guests were the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Federation of WIs, who circulated during the evening.

The last few months have seen the introduction of additional events between the group’s regular meetings. In September a Harvest Supper was held at the home of President Jenny, in October a Canapes and Prosecco afternoon was aimed at recruiting new members and in December Christmas Wreaths were made. All events had a good attendance from members and visitors. January saw the renewal of memberships at a Games Evening.

The February meeting is on Tuesday 18th February when Paul Dyson, a wildlife artist, adventurer and photographer returns to talk about ‘Borneo, Orangutans and Climbing Mongolia’s Highest Mountain’. His talk will be illustrated with superb photography and there will be a display of Paul’s paintings. They welcome new members and visitors to this highly acclaimed speaker. Meetings start at 7.15pm at East Markham Village Hall, NG22 0SS. More information is available from 01777 871567 or 01777 871706.
