The Retford and District Photographic Society want you to be inspired to get outdoors and record how wonderful gardens, plants and nature can be and so they have teamed up with Retford Civic Society to arrange a Young Photographer of the Year Competition.
Enter any photograph depicting plants, trees, flowers or other vegetation taken in Retford and District during 2018. There are two categories for entries — up to 11 years old and 12 to 16 years old.
Entries should be in jpeg format, 1920pixels x 1080pixels, and must be submitted before 18th August by email to Retford and District Photographic Society at youngphotographer@retford-photographic.co.uk, stating your name, age, contact details, where the photo was taken and its title.
The winning images will be selected by judges from the Photographic Society for their originality, technical ability and creativity. The winner in each category will receive a cheque to the value of £50.00 along with a framed photograph of the winning entry, plus the offer of one year free membership of the Photo Society for the winner and one named adult.
Prizes will be presented at the Retford in Bloom presentation at Retford Town Hall on 19th September 2018.
