The world-famous Black Dyke Band is regarded by many to be the most famous and successful brass band in history. Formed in 1855 in the Yorkshire town of Queensbury, the band has won no less than 24 National, 30 British Open and 13 European Championship titles.

Following a sold-out concert in April 2023, the Band will be returning to Worksop on Thursday 26th September to perform a concert in the beautiful Worksop Priory, starting at 7.30pm. The evening will also feature the local Whitwell Brass Band, who have just been crowned as Midland Regional Champions (section 4).

The Black Dyke Band returns to Worksop as the current National Champion Band of Great Britain by virtue of their winning performance at the National Brass Band Championships, held in October 2023 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, confirming their reputation for being the most successful brass band in history.

The band continues to maintain a very busy concert schedule and has several exciting projects lined up for the remainder of the year, including a ten-day tour of Japan in November.

Under the leadership of Musical Directors Nicholas Childs and Rob Deakin, both bands will deliver varied exciting programmes of music which will showcase the incredible talents on show, before they join forces at the end of the evening for a massed bands segment to bring the evening to a close.

The evening will also pay tribute to the late Nicola Hand who was a much loved and valued member of the Whitwell Brass Band for many years.

Tickets are priced at £15.00 for an adult ticket in the front nave and £10.00 for an adult ticket in the rear nave (concessions available) and can be purchased at www.ticketsource.co.uk and searching Black Dyke Band, Worksop Priory.
