The next meeting of the North Wheatley Local History Group will take place on Monday 19th September starting at 10.00 am, at the Village Hall in South Wheatley. The speaker will be Adrian Gray, who will give a talk entitled ‘Highlights of Newark and Sherwood’.

Adrian is another local speaker returning to North and South Wheatley – this time with stories about the Newark and Sherwood areas of Nottinghamshire. There is a visitor fee of £4.00 for this meeting.

Then, on 23rd September, there is an Evening with Caroline Hawley. As usual, this meeting will be held at the Village Hall in South Wheatley – but this time starting at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7.00pm. Caroline is an antiques expert, auctioneer and television personality (Bargain Hunt, Flog It!, Antiques Road Trip).

Her talk is entitled ‘The Auction Market Today and Tales from Television’. Following the talk, Caroline will give valuations to items that people have brought along.

Tickets for this meeting are now on sale and cost £10.00, to include coffee and light refreshments. A very reasonable price for what promises to be a very interesting evening!
