What’s on in Ordsall

Shows in January and February at Ordsall Parish Hall see the return of Jonny and Lynnette, the popular country duo, and a new departure for the Parish Hall – a South Asian dance show supported by Live & Local, the East Midlands arts organisation.

Devotees of Jonny and Lynnette will need no introduction to this couple who blend their traditional country music with a warm blend of repartee that always delights the audience. This will be their fifth visit to the Parish Hall. The duo has won many awards for Best Country Music Duo and Lynnette for Best Female Vocalist in the Club Awards.

They will perform on Saturday 28th January, starting at 7.30pm. Previous shows have sold out quickly. Tickets are £12.00 for adults and £6.00 for children. This price includes interval hot food. Contact Peter on 07951 253343 or 01777 706433.
Sonia Sabri is a name known in the dance world as being the lead dancer at the Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Her company ‘Roshni’ will present their Kathak style of Asian dance at the Hall on Sunday 26th February at 3.30pm.

This will be a rare opportunity to experience Asian dance from a nationally renowned dancer and it will be right here on your doorstep! Tickets include an afternoon tea and are £14.00 for adults, £8.00 for children under 17) or £35.00 for a family ticket (2+2). Special rates for groups on enquiry. More detail in the February issue. The Hall continues to host the weekly activities of Tai Chi, Keep Fit and the uniformed youth groups. There are slots available for other regular and one-off groups. Contact Deb on 07903 949160 for a look round the facilities. Children’s birthday parties are frequent bookings.
