We CAAN is a charity-based initiative providing a supportive space for children and adults with additional needs to be themselves. The group currently meets through the generosity of St Giles School in Retford, which provides the venue. It was a real honour for We CAAN to attend the BBC Radio Nottingham Make a Difference Awards. The evening celebrated the inspiring stories of volunteers across Nottinghamshire who dedicate their time to improving lives in their communities. We CAAN received a Highly Commended award in the Community Group category – recognition not just for the five ladies who attended, but also for their partners, other volunteers, and the wider We CAAN family.
