Updates from the North Notts and Lincolnshire Community Rail Partnership

As we move into summer, the North Notts and Lincolnshire Community Rail Partnership (NNLCRP) are excited to see work along their network develop. Regular users of Retford Station will have seen the mosaics of Alan Peglar, The Flying Scotsman, and The Mallard installed in the ticket office and on the main platform walls.

Towards the end of May, they celebrated Community Week, joining with other partnerships to run stalls at Sheffield and Nottingham stations to promote travel by rail and the fantastic destinations to visit along the network. Lots of positive feedback was received and they are looking forward to future events. NNLCRP also ran a pop-up stall on Worksop Market, promoting the partnership and the work they do.

For those looking to enjoy weekend trips to the beach, they are delighted to announce that plans are under way for the return of the weekend X90 bus service to Cleethorpes from Gainsborough. Watch this space for further details, or follow NNLCRP on Facebook.

NNLCRP staff are keen to start working with local schools and groups to promote the benefit of the railways and ‘Try the Train’ sessions. They were thrilled to run their first trip to Cleethorpes with a group from Market Rasen, many of whom had never been on a train before. The experience was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and they are looking forward to organising future trips. Please do get in touch with them at contact@nnlcrp.org.uk to register an interest for your community group.
