With twinning now back on track and future plans taking shape, Bassetlaw Twinning Association (BTA) is eager to involve more local people. A stall at the Worksop Multicultural Festival on 14th September will provide an opportunity to learn more about Bassetlaw’s twin towns and speak with BTA members about twinning visits and the association’s other events. There will also be colouring activities for children.
Shortly before the festival, some BTA members will have visited Pfungstadt, near Darmstadt, Germany, for the Kerb, a celebration of the grape harvest. Photos from last year’s visit to Pfungstadt show two invited guests representing BTA at the regional Hessentag Festival, hosted by Pfungstadt on that occasion.
Plans are underway for a visit to Garbsen, another German town near Hanover, in spring next year, and a visit to Aurillac / Arpajon in France’s beautiful Cantal region is scheduled for the following year. BTA members have the opportunity to participate in these visits, host visitors, attend events during return visits, and join in other BTA activities, including meals out.
The Multicultural Festival will be held on Bracebridge Field between 11.00am and 5.00pm, and the BTA stall will be in the marquee. A free prize draw will offer the chance to win a year’s membership (otherwise £10.00) for the lucky person whose contact details are drawn at the end of the day. Do go along and find out more!
