Trustees wanted!

Bassetlaw Food Bank (BFB) is seeking new board members to play a key role in shaping how the charity operates. But what exactly does it mean to be a trustee?

A trustee is a volunteer who works alongside the senior leadership team, overseeing the charity by:

  • Ensuring the charity fulfils its purposes for public benefit.
  • Complying with the charity’s governing document and legal requirements.
  • Acting in the charity’s best interests.
  • Managing resources responsibly.
  • Acting with reasonable care and skill.
  • Ensuring accountability.

What is BFB looking for in a trustee?

  • Commitment to the cause.
  • Approximately six hours each month.
  • Strategic thinkers.
  • The ability to ask insightful, analytical questions.
  • A basic understanding of, or willingness to learn about, charity finances and governance.
  • Open-mindedness.
  • A drive to make a positive impact in the Bassetlaw community.
