Tour of Britain is on its way!

The biggest ever free-to-attend sporting event to come to Bassetlaw is really close and residents, businesses and community groups can now see when the OVO Energy Tour of Britain will be racing through their town or village on 6th September.

The world’s top professional cyclists are expected to arrive in Bassetlaw at just after 1.00pm as they ride through Clumber Park, Worksop and on to Harworth, the home of Tom Simpson at around 1.45pm. The riders will then head towards Ranskill where one of the exciting Eisberg Sprints will take place before hitting Retford at just after 2.00pm.
The Skoda King of the Mountain stage will start at Eaton Wood — a 1.5-kilometre climb averaging a four per cent gradient — before the peloton leaves Bassetlaw at Dunham-on-Trent at around 2.30pm.

In Retford there will be events, food and drink on the square for the day as well as a large screen so the race can be seen in its entirety as well as live as it passes through the town. The Tour of Britain down Bridgegate, past The Square and up Grove Street onto Arlington Way. The Retford Business Forum’s event will ensure you can watch the whole event on as well as being able to see the World’s top cyclists race past the Square.
