Time to volunteer

by | 12 July 2023 | Local Charity, Retford

Do you have a few hours to spare? Bassetlaw Hospice is looking for volunteers to join their existing team who generously give their time helping in a variety of ways.

There are the two charity shops based in Worksop and Retford, so there are plenty of opportunities for volunteers who like the hustle and bustle of retail, and the Tea Bar based in Retford Hospital gives the opportunity of meeting a variety of people whilst providing a service.

Volunteers also help at the Hospice providing a meet and greet service, helping in the Support and wellbeing centre, assisting in the kitchen and helping with gardening. If you’re a driver, then there’s a volunteer role for you too! If you can’t commit set days and times to volunteering, then maybe you could help out as a fundraising volunteer as this is less structured.

There are lots of benefits to volunteering: alongside helping the charity, it’s a great way to make new friends, reduce isolation, gain new skills or utilise the skills you already have.

Please contact 01777 710444 if you’d like to chat about any of the roles and it’s possible to arrange sample days before making a commitment.

Further information and application forms are also available from the Appeal Office, 4 Jubilee Courtyard, Retford DN22 6BN or email debbie@bassetlawhospice.org. Alternatively, download an application form from www.bassetlawhospice.org/volunteer-introduction.
