Tickhill Film Society’s new season

Tickhill Film Society (TFS) would like to welcome everyone to their new season starting in September 2018. They will be showing feature-length films in Tickhill Parish Room, on the third and last Wednesdays of the month, with doors opening at 6.30pm and films starting at 7.00pm.

Members of the Society pay a subscription for a season of films. Join TFS by sending a cheque for £24.00 — payable to Tickhill Film Society — to Janice Birkinshaw, 19 Wong Lane, Tickhill DN11 9NY. If you prefer to pay by cash then please call either of the numbers below. Guests are welcome to attend, at £5.00 per film.
The films will be:

  • 19th September — ‘Victoria and Abdul’ – about Victoria’s last friendship, featuring Judy Dench.
  • 26th September — ‘The Post’ — newspaper drama, with Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep.
  • 17th October — ‘Loving Vincent’ — oil painted animation about Van Gogh’s last letter.
  • 31st October — ‘The Greatest Showman’ — PT Barnum musical, with Hugh Jackman.
  • 21st November — ‘The Man Who Invented Christmas’ — Dickens tale, with Dan Stevens.
  • 28th November — ‘Casablanca’ — classic WWII romantic drama, with Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman.
