‘The Screen at Retford Little Theatre’ started its 10th season last month with a very successful showing of ‘Belfast’. It’s still not too late to join with five good films yet to come for £20.00 in the comfortable surroundings of Retford Little Theatre. Application forms are still available from the Theatre or the Denman Library and The Hub on Cannon Square.
Do get involved – it’s a nice comfortable night out in Retford with very good ice cream available (Thaymar) in addition to the licensed bar.
The next film to be shown on Friday 17th February is ‘Wild Rose’ starring Jessie Buckley; ‘Operation Mincemeat’ a Second World War ‘caper’ with lots of favourites headed by Colin Firth comes next in March and then ‘Elvis’ with staggering performances from Austin Butler as ‘The King’ and Tom Hanks, unrecognisable as the infamous Col. Parker; followed by ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, an isolated girl finding a solution in nature.
The finale will be an award-winning film in July, yet to be announced but sure to complete a rounded season which the organisers hope will attract you to join them as a member. If you don’t want to join you can always chance your luck and go on the night for a fiver – they’ve never turned anyone away yet!
It is now not essential to reserve your place but for further information please look at their website, www.rlt.org.uk/TheScreen or find them at www.facebook.com/TheScreenatrlt.
