The Screen @ RLT embarks on its 10th season this month and memberships for the new season are now on sale. £20.00 for six good films in the comfortable surroundings of Retford Little Theatre. Application forms can be obtained from the theatre or from Denman Library and ‘The Hub’ on Cannon Square. Do involved – it’s a nice comfortable night out in Retford with very good ice cream available (Thaymar) in addition to the licensed bar.
The films selected have a broad range to appeal to everyone, starting with ‘Belfast’ from Sir Kenneth Branagh’s stable to ‘Wild Rose’ starring Jessie Buckley; ‘Operation Mincemeat’, a Second World War ‘caper’ with lots of favourites headed by Colin Firth; ‘Elvis’ with staggering performances from Austin Butler as ‘The King’ and Tom Hanks, unrecognisable as the infamous Col. Parker; followed by ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, an isolated girl finding a solution in nature.
The finale will be an award-winning film in July of next year yet to be announced but sure to complete a rounded season which it is hoped will attract you to join as a member.
It is now not essential to reserve your place but for further information please visit www.rlt.org.uk/TheScreen or www.facebook.com/TheScreenatrlt.
You can, of course, still attend on the night for a fiver if you so wish.
