The MOB does Sister Act

by | 9 June 2018 | Performing Arts, Retford

Set in 1970s Philadelphia, Sister Act tells the story of wannabe disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier. When Deloris witnesses night club owner and gangster, Curtis, murder one of his gang, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent!

Disguised as a nun, she finds herself clashing with both the strict monastic lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her singing talent and daring disco moves to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church, raising much needed donations for their community, but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, Curtis and his gang are giving chase, only to find themselves up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.

Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story showing the power of love over adversity, Sister Act will leave you breathless. Catch The MOB in Sister Act from 5th to 7th July at The Majestic Theatre in Retford. Tickets on sale now, see www.majesticretford.com.
