The Hub’s community support

by | 8 March 2018 | Art, Community facility, Hobbies, Retford

The Hub in Retford is now almost three years old, and, since opening, has returned over £50,000 to the local community. The pie chart adjacent shows where the money goes.

15,000 hours of volunteer time has gone into making this a viable and thriving concern. Volunteers, both young and not-so-young, have worked hard to provide local tourist information, to provide a showcase and outlet for local artists and artisans, and to sell local foods.

If you have not yet visited, do come to see what is on offer, look at the exhibitions in the gallery, and the Mayflower Pilgrims Museum, and have refreshments. You will be assured of a warm welcome.
Classes are also held regularly and include:

  • Cath’s art classes, including the popular Thursday afternoon ‘Drop-In’ Art Class from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.
  • Polly Warren’s Lino Print Course — Wednesday 7th March.
  • Issy’s Crafts — at 7.00pm on Wednesday 7th March and Wednesday 21st March, and at 10.00am on Thursday 22nd March.
  • Family Craft Morning with Louise — from 10.00am to 12.00pm on Friday 24th March. The cost is £5.00 per child and booking is essential. Book through The Hub, call 01777 860414 or find Retford Hub on Facebook.
