There’s more to Pride and Prejudice’s Mr Darcy than Colin Firth in his wet shirt — his other attractions include the best Regency cuisine offered to his guests at Pemberley. Local tutor Judith Hedley will host an entertaining afternoon on Saturday 19th October, from 1.00pm to 3.00pm, to celebrate the place of food in Jane Austen’s life and novels. This will be a chance to taste such dishes as solid syllabub, rout cakes and ratafia biscuits. The afternoon will be at Rampton Village Hall and entrance of £10.00 includes Regency refreshments.
