Supporting Bassetlaw Hospice

by | 6 November 2020 | Local Charity, Retford, Worksop

With the support of the local community, the two Bassetlaw Hospice shops are open and trading again! The charity is, however, keen to hear from anyone who may have a few hours to spare and would like to volunteer, getting involved in all aspects of the day to day running of the shops. For further information or to try a sample day, please contact Debbie at the Appeal Office.

This year the charity will be launching a Memory Stars campaign. In return for a donation to the charity, you will receive one of their crafted wooden Memory Stars. You can personalise it with the name of a loved one you would like to remember at Christmas time, or decorate it in their memory. Then you can choose to keep the star to hang on your own tree or it can be sent to the charity to be placed on the hospice’s Christmas tree, which is in the gardens to front of the building. The tree lights will be on every night throughout December.

Finally, the charity has had many lovely gifts donated intended for raffle prizes, which sadly they haven’t been able to use this year. To help raise much needed funds, in November they are using these items for their ‘Donate for a Mystery Box’ campaign just in time for Christmas! Further details will follow via the hospice’s Facebook page.
Thank you to everyone in the community for their ongoing support. For further information about the charity, fundraising or to volunteer please contact Debbie on 01777 710444, or email debbie@bassetlawhospice.org.
