April services and events
- Sundays, 10.30am: Morning worship with Sunday Club for children. Coffee, tea, and biscuits are available afterwards, providing time to chat. Communion is shared on the second and fifth Sundays of the month.
- Sunday 6th April, 10.30am – St Saviour’s Café Church: An exciting new way to explore faith and experience church. Held on the first Sunday of every month, it includes a free breakfast / brunch served in church from 10.30am to 11.00am, followed by a short, informal, and accessible service suitable for anyone curious or seeking to belong. All are welcome, whatever their age.
- Tuesdays – Lego Club, 3.30pm to 4.45pm (term time): For primary-age children and their adults. Play, snacks, and Bible stories. Contact Jane on 01777 948431. Lego Special on Tuesday 22nd April – join in for fun, games, and Easter treats!
- Wednesdays, 10.30am: Traditional Book of Common Prayer Communion, followed by a time of friendship and refreshments.
Thursdays, 5.00pm: Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides. Contact clarecheetham19@gmail.com. - Grief Café: Held on the first Tuesday of each month from 2.00pm to 3.00pm. An informal gathering for those who have been bereaved, providing a safe space to share experiences. No booking required – just turn up. For more information, contact Barbara Moakes on 07768 159844.
- Pies, Peas and Performances: Monthly live music events in the Community Centre. For more information, contact Mark Barnett on 01777 701865.
- Time Together Groups: Midweek gatherings where people can learn more about the Christian faith and enjoy conversation. Contact Jane and Andrew on 01777 948431 or Barbara Moakes on 07768 159844.
The Community Centre also hosts regular AA meetings, art classes, calligraphy sessions, bingo, Tiny Toes Ballet, and a judo group. For contact details for these groups, phone Martin Dawson on 01777 703121.

Everyone at St Saviour’s would like to thank those who helped, donated, or bought items at the recent Jumble Sale, making it a great success once again. It was a fantastic way to meet people from both the local area and further afield, raise much-needed funds for the church, and ensure that all remaining items were donated to charity.
Also Happening in April
Christian Aid Lunches: Offered in St Saviour’s Community Centre on Friday 4th, 11th, and 18th April. A simple lunch of homemade soup, bread and cheese, tea, and coffee will be served from 12.00pm. The cost is £5.00, with proceeds supporting those in need worldwide through Christian Aid. All are welcome.
St Saviour’s Church at Easter
- Maundy Thursday, 17th April, 5.45pm: A commemoration of the Last Supper, including a meal.
- Good Friday, 18th April, 2.00pm to 3.00pm: An hour at the Cross.
- Easter Sunday, 20th April, 10.30am: Celebration and Communion, followed by an Easter egg hunt.
