St Bartholomew’s Church at Sutton-cum-Lound is keen to hear from any relatives of, or anyone who can provide further information about, a gentleman named John D’Arcy Clark from Barnby Moor, who died in 1845 aged 33.
There is a memorial in the church which reads:
To the memory of
John D’Arcy Clark of Barnby Moor in the County of Nottingham
Who died January 11th 1845
Aged 33
This tablet is erected by his widow and only child George D’Arcy Clark, Sarah, Widow of the above
Who died the 7th of March 1852
And is interred … churchyard
