Spring has arrived at Cath Ray Gallery and Studios, on Bridgegate in Retford with dragonflies, butterflies, bees, flowers and leaves all adorning the walls of the gallery. They are all the work of Nottingham jeweller and coppersmith Dawn Feeney, who has been working her magic in metal for many years. Her drawings and designs are worked up in copper and are then pinned and arranged in beautiful white frames.
This solo exhibition runs from 11th March to 6th May but Dawn’s work can also be seen in selected venues across the region, including Clumber Park.
Now that the nights are getting lighter there are evening classes at the gallery including Michelle’s Craft Night on Tuesdays from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
During the exhibition there will be an eight week drawing and painting course called ‘Art From Nature’, and daytime cardmaking sessions for adults and children as well as after-school clubs in art and storywriting take place. Email raybooks@msn.com for further information.
