At the time of writing it’s still looking unlikely that they’ll be able to reopen the Wednesday (Memory) Group to all their members, but there is a bit of good news for carers and that is that the wonderful Carers’ Roadshow, which would have been taking place in Retford in July and Worksop in June, but for the virus, is now available online 24/7 and is likely to stay there. Absolutely brilliant!
The organiser, Trevor Clower, is completely dedicated to doing everything he can to put carers in touch with all sources of help. The online version of the roadshow is a series of short videos featuring a market stall offering information and support to carers. There’s lots on offer including cancer support, financial advice, a social group for people with dementia to name but three and more stalls are being added as they come in. You can access the roadshow by Googling ‘Virtual Carers Roadshow Youtube’ and scrolling down till you reach it.
Please look after yourselves. The group’s organisers are still exploring possibilities for getting together and you can always ring or email for an update. If you’d like a chat about The Wednesday Group, the Carers’ Group or the roadshow please contact Jan on 01777 709974 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
