Scott ready for the 2025 racing season

by | 18 March 2025 | Notice, Retford

A successful return to motorcycle racing last year has encouraged Retford racer Scott Stone to mount a serious challenge to win the No Limits Premier 1000cc Championship in 2025. Scott and his team have secured a strong sponsorship and support package, enabling him to compete in all the No Limits rounds, with additional training, track days, and selected events with other clubs.

Scott’s Yamaha R1 is fully prepared and now features a striking new livery showcasing his various sponsors. Title sponsor, AMCO Distributors of West Carr Road, Ordsall, and RT Motors of Aurillac Business Park, Hallcroft, are the major contributors, both maintaining close working relationships with Scott and wishing him every success. Trade support, through the supply of spare parts and lubricants, is provided by national companies including EBC Brakes (@ebcbrakesofficial), Putoline Oils, and Hoco Parts. Other generous supporters include Kevin Pilgrim of Retford Motorcycles, Carlton Auto Finishers, Stone Haulage, Themis Estate Planning, as well as family and friends.

The entry list of fellow competitors is yet to be confirmed, but Scott is confident that his preparations will enable him to challenge for the title. His R1 is now fitted with an on-board camera, allowing race footage to be analysed by racing coach Gary Walton of Not So Fast Rider Training. Having previously coached Scott, Gary has been an invaluable influence, helping him refine his racing lines at the various challenging circuits.

The Premier Class races run concurrently with the Pirelli Super Series 1000, attracting a mix of experienced riders and rising stars. The standard of racing is high—fast and thrilling—with several competitors also racing at the national level in the British Superbike 1000cc support races. Alongside his goal of winning the Premier 1000 title, Scott is aiming to consistently finish in the top ten overall.

Scott’s first race of the season takes place at Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk on Saturday 22nd March, marking the opening round of the No Limits Championships. In preparation, the Yamaha R1 will undergo testing at the No Limits track day at Snetterton on Sunday 9th March. Fully fit and energised after competing in several off-road endurance races over the winter, Scott is eagerly counting down the days. As ever, his close friend and right-hand man, Jason Hugill, will be on hand as his race mechanic. Thanks are also extended to Joe Richardson of JR Performance, Tuxford, and Matt at North Notts Health, Eakring.

Grateful for the opportunities presented to him, Scott emphasises that while winning is important, the ultimate pleasure comes from spending weekends with friends and supporters in the racing environment. All are welcome to join him. Scott can be contacted via email at scott-stone100@hotmail.com.
