Santa is coming!

by | 2 December 2021 | Community Event, Lions, Retford

Retford Lions are bringing Santa to Retford and surrounding villages again this year. His sleigh will stop at selected places where children can go and meet him and maybe get a free sweet. Santa will be behind a Perspex screen with a two-way speaker system to chat with the children and other precautions will be taken to keep everyone safe. His stopping places are listed to the right with approximate arrival times.
More specific information will be posted each day on Retford Lions Club Facebook page and you can follow his progress on the tracker at www.lionstracksanta.com. There is no charge for seeing Santa but Lions welcome cash or contactless card donations which will help them continue to help people in need in the Retford area.

In other news, Retford Lions met as usual in October and were honoured to welcome the District Governor Lion David Pope and Peterbrough Lions president Andrew Wilcox. The Governor addressed those present and thanked Retford Lions for all their various projects and initiatives in the town.
Lions are working with Babworth Crematorium to plant an area with up to 100 trees all sourced from local suppliers. It is the hope of the club to encourage local schools to participate in the project. More news of this later.
Tickets are now on sale for the Lions ‘A Night to Remember’ with original sixties stars at the Majestic on 26th February 2022.
