Ryton Chorale is in full rehearsal for Handel’s Messiah, one of the ‘greats’ of the choral repertoire, with conductor Nick Thorpe. The English Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra and organist Jack Pickford will accompany the choir.
It will be presented on Saturday 25th March in The Crossing, Newcastle Street, Worksop S80 2AT. Please note the earlier start time of 7.00pm. Also in rehearsal is Stainer’s Crucifixion that will be performed a week later on Palm Sunday, 2nd April in Christ Church, Thievesdale Lane, Worksop S81 0SX. This concerts starts at 6.30pm and the doors open at 6.00pm. Tickets are £7.00 and are available from the same channels listed above. The conductor is Nick Thorpe and organist Jack Pickford, with the bass soloist for this work being David Wynne, former Ryton Chorale conductor, from Birmingham.
