Lass the Lurcher is looking forward to the RSPCA Fun Dog Show at the Animal Centre on Great North Road, Bawtry, on 11th June from 11.00am to 3.00pm. There are plenty of classes to enter for both adult and child handlers and lots of stalls and refreshments to complete a great family day out.

Lass will be at the show, but what she really wants is a forever home. She has been with the RSPCA South Yorkshire Animal Centre for quite a while now, always overlooked in favour of younger dogs. She is a lovely girl who in spite of her 12 years doesn’t act her age. She is a little timid at first but she soon comes around for a fuss and a cuddle and loves to be groomed.

She has limited movement in her hips and suffers from carpal (wrist) hyperextension. The injury is unfortunately degenerative and usually associated with older dogs. She gets on with some dogs but is looking for a quiet home with no other animals to live out the remainder of her life in a loving and peaceful environment. Ideally a home with older children (12+) who can respect her needs as an older dog.

If you are able to offer Lass a forever home, please contact us on 01302 719790 or email Visit to view our other animals looking for a new home. And don’t forget to come along to the Fun Dog Show to meet Lass and the team — everyone is welcome whatever shape or size your dog is!

The Centre receives no Government or lottery money. You can help by bringing in unwanted clothes, toys, bedding, curtains, books and bric-a-brac (call 01302 719790 if you need it collecting); or make a mobile donation — text SYAC14 £5 to 70070. Keep up to date with local RSPCA news at The Centre is open six days a week from 11.00am to 4.00pm (closed Wednesdays).
