Retford Writers’ Group

Retford Writers’ Group enters a new decade after nine successful years. However, as the library is being refurbished, Bassetlaw Museum has come to the rescue of the ‘Library Refugees’. Fancy writing — for fun, fame, therapy or brain gym? Poetry, prose, fact or fiction. All are welcome to the Writers’ group, to share writings, give and receive constructive criticism, and enjoy meeting each other. A trigger word is given if members feel the need for a prompt to set off writing. The trigger for the New Year was party — wonder why? You can see over 300 pieces, some trigger inspired, on the group’s website, retwords.wordpress.com.
Kevin Murphy steers the group and can be contacted on 07903 654499 or kpm2@talktalk.net. 2020 dates are alternate Thursdays from 2.00pm to 4.00pm — 6th and 20th February, 5th and 19th March and ongoing at the museum until May at least.
