Retford u3a is open to anyone no longer in full time employment. There is no upper or lower age limit. General meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month, 1.30pm to 3.30pm at The Well, Hospital Road, Retford DN22 7BD.

Potential new members are welcome to go free of charge to a meeting to see if they would like to be part of the u3a. Each month the meetings have a booked speaker. It’s also an opportunity to find out about some of the 40+ Interest Groups that can be joined if you become a member.

Groups include walking, cycling, book clubs, wine appreciation and learning foreign languages. Also available is painting, snooker, photography, philosophy, coffee mornings, local history, table tennis and more.

There is something for everyone, not forgetting The Big Night Out with a meal and quiz that is always popular. These groups provide opportunities to learn something new, while having a good time, and to meet new people.

At the next general meeting on Thursday 23rd May members will be welcoming The Workhouse Storytellers, who through costumes, stories and songs tell of much harder life experiences for the poor and homeless.
