Retford u3a has had a busy month, with the latest Big Night Out a sell-out.
Over 50 interest groups meet this month. Several interest groups are so over-subscribed that they have inspired clones – for example, the third book club has now launched! All three meet on Wednesdays, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see a fourth appear to cater for readers who are busy on that day.
Two coffee mornings are both going strong on Tuesday and Wednesday, while the new wine group, More Wine, meets on Friday afternoon. Even u3a retirees virtuously wait for the start of the weekend before they imbibe!
Of course, whether you are sitting down with a good book, a glass of Beaujolais or both, you can shake out the cobwebs with u3a friends in one of their three walking groups (from Strollers to Striders) or jump on a bike with fellow u3a cyclists.
At the meeting on 23rd November at the Well, David Skillen will be telling members about the little-known and amazing story of Pilots in Petticoats, the brave women who flew for the RAF during the War. All David’s talks are entertaining and well-researched, so don’t miss it!
