Retford u3a

Autumn has certainly started out busy for Retford u3a. They’ve seen a real upturn in attendance at General Meetings and of interest group activities too.

October starts with a bang, the Retford u3a night out on Friday 7th October. Retford Golf Club is welcoming 64 members for a two-course supper followed by a cash prize table quiz, and with a cash bar.

At the end of the month, on Thursday 27th, Veolia, which collects recyclables and rubbish across Nottinghamshire, is sending Leslie Taylor to tell the group about recycling. If you would like to do more for the environment, but are not always sure what you can do, then do not miss this talk. As always, the General Meeting will start at the Well on Hospital Road, Retford at 2.00pm.

On a final point, watch out for new developments from the u3a’s Military History Group. Roy Evans is always coming up with new ideas, but this time he has excelled himself, connecting the Retford group with interest groups across the UK via Zoom and face-to-face meetings. Expect a truly fascinating speaker list this winter!
