Retford Scouts

“Why did Tigger look down the toilet? To look for Pooh”. Cubs and Scouts at 7th Retford enjoyed a Zoom meeting about Toilet Twinning to coincide with the International Day of the Toilet in November. They had a whole list of silly toilet jokes to keep them amused, as well as some serious stuff from the Toilet Twinning Organisation.
The groups managed to have six sessions face-to-face before they had to return to Zoom and their last session included hot dogs, marshmallows or sweets and some fireworks on 4th November.
In recent sessions, they have made individual towers using mini marshmallows and cocktail sticks and completed a sewing project using wool. They have also started to think about camping in 2021 (fingers crossed, feeling hopeful!) and discussed planning a camp for the Scouts and what they would need to take as a group. Cubs had a discussion about healthy eating and have played various games on Zoom and bingo.
In December they should have been having a big celebration as it was the group’s 90th birthday on 6th December. They were first registered back in December 1930. They will have to wait and celebrate the centenary instead.
