Retford Patchwork and Quilting Group

by | 4 July 2025 | Hobbies, Retford

Retford Patchwork and Quilting Group is a newly established organisation welcoming individuals of all ages and experience levels. Young quilters are especially encouraged to join.

The group aims to promote the enjoyment and understanding of patchwork, quilting, and related crafts through regular meetings. Special small projects are planned for young quilters, with future ambitions to host workshops and lectures to help members expand their skills and enthusiasm for all things quilty.

The group is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment where members can share experience, learn new skills, and enjoy their craft. Fun, creativity, and community are at the heart of every meeting.

Meetings take place on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 6.30pm to 9.00pm at Grove Street Methodist Church in the Albert Hall, accessible from the small rear car park.

The committee provides PAT-tested extension cables, irons, ironing boards, cutting mats, and rulers.

Each meeting costs £5.00 and includes refreshments. Young quilters (up to age 18) attend free of charge but must be accompanied by a paying parent, grandparent, or guardian.

One of the monthly meetings will include an optional project designed to broaden members’ skills. Members are always welcome to take along their own current work or items they would like support or guidance with. The group benefits from a wealth of experience and aims to help members find creative solutions wherever possible.

Members must take their own materials and PAT-tested sewing machines.
