After two years, Retford Musical Theatre Company is excited to be finally treading the boards again at the beautiful Majestic Theatre with the uplifting, dazzling, uplifting musical that is ‘Kinky Boots’.

Based on the 2005 British film, mostly inspired by true events, the musical tells the story of Charlie Price. Having inherited a shoe factory from his father, Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen Lola to produce a line of high-heeled boots and save the business. In the process, Charlie and Lola discover that they are not so different after all.

With music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein, this is a show full of soul, personal challenge and discovery with the most important message of learning to accept others for who they are.

Showing from 5th to 7th May at 7.30pm and a matinee on the 7th at 2.30pm, tickets are available from or telephone the box office on 01777 706866.

RMTC have been raising money for the Bassetlaw Hospice this year. To date, with a concert, the pantomime and a wonderful ‘Night of Queens’ at the Town Hall, the company have raised over £1,200.
