Following the Retford Lions Club red duck race on Charter Day, a presentation was held to present the winners with their prize. A total of £1,500 in prizes goes straight back to the community.
Presentations were made by Lion President Margaret Campbell.
Red race winner, Reflections Hair Salon manager Sharon Tuplin, chose to split her prize between Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance (represented by Helen Hall) and the Special Care Baby Unit at Bassetlaw Hospital (represented by Ward Manager Caroline Davies and Claire Bradley). Caroline and Claire chose for the baby unit a new TV for the family room. This was purchased and installed locally by Penningtons Electrical.
President Margaret presented a second cheque to the duck rescuers in the river, Carrie Dean and Reverend Canon Kate Bottley. Thanks go to Retford Rugby Club for their support and enthusiasm on the day.
The three yellow race winners received their prizes on the day. Many thanks to everyone who helped to make it such a wonderful day.
