Would you know what to do if someone collapsed with cardiac arrest?
Retford Lions Club has already taught over 500 people how to do CPR and how to use a defibrillator. Using material supplied by the British Heart Foundation, they have run training sessions in village halls, sports clubs, schools and many other venues.
They are keen to do more. If you would like them to run a free session for you and you can provide a venue and arrange for people to attend, send them a message or call 01777 704154 to discuss arrangements.
Everyone should know these simple lifesaving skills.
On 5th March Lions visited Worksop Cricket Club to present a cheque to the Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK. Christine Coldwell, Chairman of the group, received the cheque from Lion President Margaret Campbell, together with other Lions present. The money will be used to help fund a coach trip for the members to enjoy a social activity together with their carers.
Following a request form Retford Lifesaving Club, Lions are providing funds for training equipment. The club is trying to raise funds to attend the Lifesaving World Championships, to be held in Australia next year.
On 10th March Lions again manned a water station for the Retford Half Marathon, supporting the great annual event.
