Retford Lions Club

When the Christmas tree needles have been sucked from the carpet, and the decorations safely packed away, Lions have time for reflection.

Retford Lions Club are reviewing the success of their Santa sleigh collections and thinking of ways to improve for next year. They are really grateful to all friends of Lions who helped over the Christmas period in any capacity to make it the success it was.

One of the major disappointments for the group was that they could not get to all parts of the town with the sleigh. The town is growing at such a rate that to visit everywhere we would like would mean starting at the beginning of November! Rest assured, however, that the Lions will be reviewing locations for next year, with a view to concentrating efforts and giving the maximum number of children a chance to see Santa.

Lion President Philip Moult hosted a dinner at Retford Golf Club on 21st January to thank members for their contributions in the past year. This is one of the many social occasions which are held in the leonine year, in which members can let their hair down and celebrate successes.

The Lions hope to continue providing help to those in need over the coming year.
