On Friday 5th August Retford District MS Society Support Group’s monthly coffee, cake and chat will take place at The Well, Hospital Road, Retford DN22 7BD. Go along for a chat and the chance to meet the friendly group members and supporters.
In September members are meeting at the West Retford Hotel for an afternoon tea. This event was a success last year, so everyone is looking forward to another get-together this year.
Saturday 10th September is Retford Heritage Day and the group is hoping to take part in the celebrations. Further details to follow.
Also in September, Rosie, the group’s intrepid cyclist, is taking part in the Bike the UK for MS – North Coast 500 Challenge and Vince, another distance cyclist, is hoping to put together a ‘Daft Bike Ride’!
Arrangements for a sponsored swim by members and supporters and a sponsored walk through Clumber Park, which has become an annual event, are also in the pipeline. Further details will follow.
On Sunday 2nd October M&Co on Carolgate will be holding a fashion show in support of the Retford group. Tickets will be available from September for £3.50, which will include a buffet tea with Prosecco. On the day Anna Bing will be selling products from the Body Shop and there will be another opportunity to buy the popular Retford Community Cookbook. Raffle tickets will be on sale and all purchases of M&Co merchandise on the day will have a reduction on the full price.

In addition, regular Zoom meetings for physiotherapy, exercise and wellbeing sessions, quizzes and chats are still taking place every week.
