It’s been a busy month for members of the Retford District MS Society Support Group. The April visit to iFly in Manchester proved to be an amazing experience, as well as providing lots of laughs at the antics of the flyers.

the end of April, The Imperial Tea Room organised for customers, friends and members of the group to take part in pulling the Dawn Rose along the Chesterfield canal from Worksop to Shireoaks. Well done to all those who took part.
The group’s stall at Retford Charter Day provided a great opportunity to publicise their activities as well as a chance to meet and chat with passers-by.

The May Cake and Coffee Fundraiser was a big success thanks to the support of members, visitors, friends and families who joined for a relaxing chat, the chance to buy cakes and to try their luck on the tombola table.

Future activities will include a walk in Clumber Park and, in August, an opportunity to go sailing with Oceans of Hope – a group founded by people with MS to create a safe, sound and fun sailing challenge for other people with MS.
Regular Zoom meetings for physiotherapy, exercise and wellbeing sessions, quizzes and chats are still taking place every week.

Retford District MS Society Support Group is part of the UK charity the MS Society. The group is here to support you and your loved ones to live well with MS and new members will be given a very warm welcome. For further information please telephone 01777 860674 or email retford@mssociety.org.uk.
