Sessions by Zoom will resume on Tuesday 8th September, led by their inspirational leader, Janet Wood. Sessions will last for around an hour, starting promptly at 7.00pm. Everyone is very welcome, including new singers, all you need is a computer, smart phone or tablet capable of supporting the Zoom app – friendly support is available beforehand for anyone who is unsure about what this involves. A modest fee is payable when you sign up, with concessions for anyone on means tested benefits. All enquiries can call 01777 704154 or 01777 704038. Alternatively, email via the contact form on their website, www.retfordcommunitysingers.co.uk.
Janet is a professional singer-songwriter who has inspired this thriving Retford choir since it was founded in 2012. She strongly believes everyone can sing and a choir should be open to all, regardless of previous experience. They sing anything with a good harmony, learning by ear, using words provided and some pre-recorded material. Singing by Zoom has its limitations but is the best they can offer until safety guidelines allow them to sing as a group and many of their loyal singers have really enjoyed this opportunity over the past months. It’s always uplifting and great fun.
