The finals weekend is the biggest date in Retford Bowling Green’s club calendar. All internal club knockout finals are played over two days, providing a bowling spectacle as the 2025 season draws to a close. In total, 12 finals were played, with the highlights being both the ladies’ and gents’ four-wood finals. The ladies’ final was between two long-established members and proved to be a very closely contested game. Millie Satchell claimed victory, just edging out Shirley Pickersgill in the later stages of a thrilling match.

The gents’ final saw Paul Thorpe, who had never won this trophy before, take on Tony Gibbings in his first season with the club. It was a high-quality game, with the lead changing hands throughout as both players jostled for position. In the end, Paul secured the final two shots required for a narrow victory over Tony.

In total, 19 different players took part in the various finals. On both days, barbecue food was provided for players and spectators, making it a fantastic weekend that showcased Retford Bowling Green at its best. The club extends thanks to everyone involved in organising and playing in this event.
