The Retford Bluebell Wood Support Group has planned another year of activities with some new ventures. You will find them at Charter Day on Monday 7th May. In June, on Sunday 24th they will be providing the refreshments for Bolham Manor which will be open with the National Garden Scheme. Come and see the most amazing climbing roses, wander through the woodland walk and enjoy a variety of vistas in both formal and informal gardens — and then relax with a good cup of tea and sumptuous cake. On Friday 29th June they will have a bric-a-brac stall in Retford market when there will be many bargains to be had.

In July, on Wednesday 11th, the group will be holding their first Afternoon Tea experience in the perfect surroundings of the Retford Town Hall Mayor’s Chambers. This will be a ticket only event and further details will be advised nearer the time.

As always, they will be supporting the Apple Day at East Markham on Sunday 7th October, an event to which members always look forward; if you’ve not been before, it is well worth the journey — all those delicious apple samples from their apple recipe book and a good variety of gift stalls to see. Later in the month, on Friday 19th, they will be holding their Annual Buttermarket Day when there will be on offer unusual stalls, delicious cakes to eat with your mid-morning coffee or a tasty lunch to finish your morning’s shopping.

The group finish the year on Sunday 25th November at the Christmas Lights Switch-on so look out for them there.
This is a small support group in Retford, but members are encouraged to continue their efforts to raise funds for Bluebell Wood because of the wonderful support they receive locally. Bluebell Wood will always be dependent on the general public’s generosity and it is heartening to know if the group provides the opportunities, you are happy to support them.
