The 10th anniversary of Retford Arts Hub in May was marked with open studios and demonstrations held over two weekends. The event proved very popular and offered visitors a valuable insight into everything this versatile space has to offer.
Crafters and artists alike can find both inspiration and an outlet for their creativity, while visitors can purchase a wide variety of arts and crafts at very reasonable prices.
Throughout June, a number of workshops will take place, including sessions on painting with acrylics, the art of decorative glass, sewing classes, and Kids Club.
A new addition to the programme is a watercolour class and an oils class, both led by John Redfern Harris.
Further details are available via Instagram and Facebook (@retfordartshub) or by visiting the Hub and speaking with one of the volunteers.
The upstairs gallery is currently hosting a new exhibition titled Poetry in Art, which runs until Thursday 13th June. A poem or piece of prose can often inspire a visual artwork, and the exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to explore the results of this creative process.
Retford Arts Hub is also welcoming work experience students in June. Their involvement brings fresh perspectives and is always appreciated by the team.
There is always a warm welcome at the Hub – whether visitors are seeking a cup of coffee and a quiet browse, looking for a unique gift, hoping to learn a new skill, or simply wanting to enjoy the art on display. All are encouraged to go along and take a look.
